New Delhi: Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani has announced efforts to ensure that members and officials regularly attend meetings of various assembly committees. Speaking during a one-day visit to New Delhi on Wednesday, Devnani emphasized his goal to make all committees of the state assembly effective and to encourage active discussions on state and public issues, similar to the Parliament.
Devnani expressed his intention to have the committees' reports assist in policy-making and governance for the state government. He mentioned that various innovations being introduced in the Rajasthan Assembly are being well-received. He also proposed that, similar to the Parliament, a winter session of the state assembly be convened to allow for more meetings and substantial discussions on state-related topics.
Additionally, Devnani plans to prepare a detailed report on the impact of recent floods due to excessive rainfall in his home district of Ajmer and other parts of the state. This report will be sent to the central government, and efforts will be made to secure appropriate flood relief assistance for the affected areas.
