South Western Command Investiture Ceremony was held with customary elan and military grandeur at the Gandiv Auditorium, Kota Military Station on 20 Feb 2025.
A total of seven Sena Medals (Gallantry), one Yudh Seva Medal, one Sena Medal (Distinguished) and five Vishisht Seva Medal were presented by Lieutenant General Nagendra Singh, Corps Commander, Chetak Corps on behalf of Lieutenant General Manjinder Singh, Army Commander South Western Command.
The investiture ceremony is conducted once a year to confer various awards to personnel who distinguish themselves by acts of individual gallantry and exceptional devotion to duty. The awardees this time included ten Officers, one Junior Commissioned officer and three Soldiers. Besides individual medals, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief South Western Command Unit Appreciation to Sixteen Units were also presented.
On this momentous occasion, the Chief Guest extended heartfelt congratulations to all awardees, honouring their exceptional gallantry and distinguished service to the nation. He exhorted all ranks, veterans and their families to reaffirm their unwavering commitment to the nation. The ceremony was graced by the proud families of the awardees, whose sacrifices and steadfast support remain the bedrock of the Indian Army’s enduring legacy of valour and dedication. He later interacted with the award winners and their families and acknowledged their invaluable contribution in upholding the highest traditions of the Indian Army.
