Shri Shobhan Choudhury takes over as General Manager, NR

Sriganganagar, Shri Shobhan Choudhury assumed charge as General Manager, Northern Railway. Before taking over as General Manager of Northern Railway, Shri Choudhury served as Secretary of the Railway Board.

A 1986 batch IRSSE officer, Shri Shobhan Choudhury has served Indian Railways in influential executive and management positions like Executive Director (Telecom Development), Divisional Railway Manager, Bhopal, and Senior Divisional Signal & Telecom Engineer in Jabalpur Division in Railway Board.

He has also played a commendable role in Telecom-related policy-making at Rail Tel Corporation. He also held the Chief Signal and Telecommunication Engineer Project post at West Central Railway. Mr. Chaudhury has served as Additional General Manager at West Central Railway since 17 October 2019. During this period, he also temporarily held the post of General Manager of West Central Railway for a few days.

Mr. Chaudhury, rich in a straightforward, easygoing, and sociable personality, receives best wishes for his new posting from hundreds of railwaymen and railway officials.
