From Jaipur to Drass Flagged Off by GOC 61 Sub Area

### Rashtriye Riders – RR Motorcycle Expedition

**Jaipur, The "Rashtriye Riders – RR" motorcycle expedition, commemorating 25 years of Kargil Vijay Diwas, was flagged off by Maj Gen RS Godara, General Officer Commanding, 61 Sub Area, on 16 July 2024 from Vijay Dwar, Jaipur Military Station.

The purpose of the ride is to honor the heroes of the Kargil War and to express the heartfelt gratitude of the country towards the brave soldiers of the Indian Army for their sacrifices and valor.

A total of 14 groups are participating in the rally. They will travel through Jaipur, Ambala, Manali, Sarchu, Leh, Partapur, Siachen Base Camp, Nubra Valley, Pangong Tso, Rezang La, Tagste, Durbuk, Leh, Drass, Srinagar, Udhampur, Pathankot, Hisar, and back to Jaipur, covering a distance of approximately 4000 kilometers over a period of sixteen days.

The expedition team is carrying messages of gratitude expressed through letters and cards made by children from different schools, including several differently-abled children. These messages, collected through campaigns run in Jaipur and Chandigarh, will be delivered at the Drass War Memorial, Kargil.

Himmat Singh Shekhawat, the administrator of Rashtriya Riders, has also written a book on the Indian Army titled “Tiger of Drass,” based on the Kargil War and covering the story of Captain Anuj Nayyar, Maha Vir Chakra. He has dedicated the royalties from this book to the welfare of the Armed Forces.
