SAPTA SHAKTI COMMAND CONDUCTED 264 KM ULTRA MARATHON FOR HONOURING MARTYRS AND CELEBRATING THE 264TH ARMY SERVICE CORPS DAY

Jaipur: The 264 Km Ultra Marathon, based on themed "Run for Martyrs, Remembering the Fallen," was flagged off by Lt Gen Harbinder Singh Vandra, Chief of Staff, South Western Command on 5 December 2024 from Prerna Sthal in Jaipur.  This ultra-marathon was organized to commemorate the 264th Army Service Corps Day as a tribute to the courage and sacrifice of India’s brave hearts.  

            The ultra-marathon, spanning a challenging distance of 264 Km, symbolizes the 264 years of the Army Service Corps' glorious service to the nation.  The marathon started from Jaipur and followed a route that took participants through Chandwaji, Paota, Behror, Bawal, and Panchgaon, before concluding at the iconic War Memorial in Delhi on 7 December 2024. It will be flagged in by Lt Gen Preet Mohindera Singh, DGST, marking the end of this historic journey.

            This event was more than just a test of physical endurance; it served as a heartfelt gesture to honour the memories of those who made the ultimate sacrifice for the country and to celebrate the unwavering spirit of the Army Service Corps (ASC). It was a symbol of respect and gratitude for the men and women who have selflessly served the nation.

            The participating team consisted of Col Sunny Gill, Nk S Yeshwanth, Sep Yogesh Bhatt, Sep Manish Kumar, Sep Naveen Kumar, Sep AnkanBhunia, and Sep Sourav Kumar Choudhary.
