NATIONAL FLAG HOISTED ON 108 FEET HIGH MAST AT LAUNGEWALA YUDH STHAL

Jaipur: National Flag was unfurled on a monumental 108 feet High Mast at Laungewala Yudh Sthal on 7th December as a tribute to the exceptional bravery and valour of Indian soldiers during the 1971 Indo-Pak War. The installation of the flag was made possible through the joint efforts of the Indian Army and the Flag Foundation of India.

 

            The event was graced by War veterans Naik Jagdev Singh and Hav Mukhtiyar Singh from 23 PUNJAB who participated in this epic battle 53 years ago. They were also joined by eight other 1971 war veterans from Jaisalmer district. Amongst those present at the function were members from Indian Air Force, Border Security Force, civil administration, prominent personalities and the local community. The event was marked by a cultural program that included patriotic songs performed by school students. These performances added vibrancy to the occasion and served to honour the courage of our Bravehearts.

 

            The Battle of Laungewala, fought in December 1971 stands as a testament to the valour and sacrifice of our Armed Forces. The sacred ground of Laungewala reminds us of the fierce battle fought here from 5th to 7th December 1971, where the courage of a few triumphed over the might of many. A War Memorial at the actual battle site of Laungewala has become a prominent tourist destination, attracting lakhs of visitors to pay tribute to our soldiers. Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, during his visit on 14th November 2020 had emphasized the importance of preserving this legacy while fostering its development as a site of National Pride. Since then, under the concerted efforts of the Indian Army, Laungewala Yudh Sthal has witnessed extensive transformation. As part of this transformation, a 108 feet High Mast National Flag has now been erected which further solidifies this landmark as a place of remembrance and pride.

 

            The installation of the flag will inspire all who visit Laungewala on the Nation's rich legacy of heroism and patriotism. The towering flag will stand as a powerful reminder of the indomitable spirit of the Indian Army and its commitment to the nation.
