Rajasthan's "Slip Government" Presents Misleading and Deceptive Budget

(mohsina bano)

The Congress has criticized Rajasthan's "Slip Government" for presenting a budget that misleads and deceives the people.

Kachru Lal Choudhary, President of Udaipur Rural District Congress Committee, stated that the budget has left the youth, women, farmers, and common citizens disappointed. Despite both the central and state governments being led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the people of Rajasthan have not received any significant relief. The government failed to reduce VAT on petrol and diesel, providing no respite from inflation. Additionally, there is no concrete plan to address the increasing state debt. Overall, this budget is aimed at misleading the people rather than providing real solutions.

Fateh Singh Rathore, President of Udaipur City District Congress, called the budget completely unrealistic. He pointed out that the government had promised 100,000 new jobs in the previous budget, but it must now disclose how many of those positions were actually filled. The BJP had pledged to increase the 'Kisan Samman Nidhi' to ₹12,000 in its election manifesto, yet it remains at ₹9,000, which he termed a betrayal of farmers. He emphasized that this budget is full of hollow promises with no real intent of implementation.

Dr. Sanjeev Rajpurohit, Spokesperson of Udaipur Rural District Congress, stated that the previous Congress-led government, under Ashok Gehlot, had implemented a scheme providing 100 units of free electricity per month to every household. However, the current government has created confusion by announcing an increase to 150 units while making solar panel installation mandatory, leaving consumers uncertain about their benefits. The "One State, One Election" policy has been widely discussed, yet the budget made no mention of local body elections or allocations for the reorganization of new municipalities and panchayats. Moreover, the government boasted about ₹35 lakh crore MoUs under "Rising Rajasthan", but the budget lacks any clear roadmap for their execution.

In conclusion, this budget is a deceptive web of false statistics designed to mislead the people of Rajasthan.
