Udaipur. The controversy surrounding Samajwadi Party’s Rajya Sabha MP Ramjilal Suman's derogatory remarks about Maharana Sanga was raised in the Lok Sabha on Thursday. Rajasthan MPs Mahima Kumari Mewar, C.P. Joshi, Mannalal Rawat, and Rao Rajendra Singh demanded strict action against the SP MP during the Zero Hour.
BJP MPs in the Lok Sabha strongly condemned the disrespectful language used against Maharana Sanga. MP Mahima Kumari stated that Maharana Sanga's legacy needs no validation, as he had twice defeated Ibrahim Lodi and once defeated Babur. Despite sustaining 80 battle wounds, he fought until his last breath. She criticized those who, without historical knowledge, make baseless comments about revered figures like Meerabai, Rani Padmini, and Maharana Pratap.
MP C.P. Joshi asserted that this was not just an issue of Mewar but a matter of national concern. He stated that those driven by appeasement politics and narrow-mindedness should face strict action for insulting such a great warrior. He further remarked that Maharana Sanga fought and won a hundred battles, whereas some people refuse to visit Ayodhya but bow at Babur’s tomb instead.
