Syed Meer Nisar Ali: A Key Figure in the Uprising Against British Rule*

Kota,. Syed Meer Nisar Ali, widely known as Titu Mir, played a pivotal role in India’s freedom struggle. His contributions are considered indispensable to the resistance against British rule. These sentiments were expressed during a program held at YGN Coaching, Vigyan Nagar, to mark Titu Mir’s death anniversary.  

**Life and Legacy of Titu Mir**  
The program organizer, Noor Ahmed Pathan, highlighted Titu Mir’s life and struggles, emphasizing that his movements became a source of inspiration for India’s independence. He noted that Titu Mir not only ran a spiritual campaign but also mobilized people against foreign rule through his relentless efforts.  

**Inspiration for Revolt**  
Mukhtar Ansari, Secretary of Millat Charitable Trust, shared that Titu Mir was a renowned wrestler in his early years and took up various small jobs. During his pilgrimage to Mecca in 1822, he met Syed Ahmed Barelvi and Haji Shariatullah, founders of the Jehadi and Faraizi movements, respectively. Their collaboration strengthened the foundation of religious and social reform movements in India.  

**Leadership in Armed Struggles**  
Dr. Riaz Ahmed, Convener of Ek Umeed Seva Sansthan, spoke about Titu Mir’s efforts to alleviate the suffering of the oppressed. He decided to end exploitation and led campaigns against oppressive landlords and the British authorities. Javed Khan, Director of Sunrise Group, elaborated on Titu Mir’s courageous stand against British forces, emphasizing his leadership in revolts that opposed exploitative taxes and inhumane activities by landlords.  

**Fearless and Strategic Warrior**  
Arshad Ansari, Director of YGN Coaching, described Titu Mir as a fearless warrior who would inform British officers and police of his plans before launching attacks. His boldness and strategies earned him the admiration of many.  

**Acknowledgment of Guests**  
The program concluded with the honored guests being welcomed with garlands. Salim Abbasi of Millat Charitable Trust and Engineer Siraj Ahmed of Madarsa Darul Uloom Raza-e-Mustafa also shared their thoughts, emphasizing the importance of patriotism and social service.
