Grand Celebration of Grandparents’ Day at KV Kota

Kota, December: Grandparents’ Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm on December 19, 2024, Thursday, at Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1, Kota. The event commenced with a warm traditional welcome of the grandparents with roli, kumkum, tilak, and a shower of flower petals by the students.

The program was inaugurated by the chief guest, Mrs. Sadhana Mittal, former principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Deoli, and the special guest, Mrs. Shesh Bakshi, retired headmaster of PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1, Kota. They began the event by garlanding the portrait of Goddess Saraswati and lighting the ceremonial lamp. The headmaster of the school, Mr. Tarun Malav, extended a heartfelt welcome to the guests and the grandparents, emphasizing the unique tradition of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan and the significance of elders in our lives.

The young students delighted everyone with vibrant performances, including group dances, welcome songs, and recitations, earning hearty applause from the audience. Meanwhile, entertaining competitions such as “Turban Tying,” “Musical Chair Race,” and “Passing the Parcel” were organized for the grandparents, who participated enthusiastically. Winners were honored with mementos presented by the chief guest.

The school principal, Mr. Rohitashwa Singh Tanwar, praised the program and expressed gratitude to the esteemed guests and participants for their presence and contributions. The chief guest blessed everyone with her inspiring words and appreciated the efforts of the students and staff.

The event was efficiently hosted by Mr. Manohar Lal Parmar and Mr. Banshilal Meghwal. Senior teachers Mr. Ramswaroop Regar and Mr. Ramesh Sen also shared their thoughts on the significance of the occasion. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by the vice principal, Mr. Brijesh Kumar Tiwari.
