Udaipur – The 70th Wildlife Week was officially inaugurated on Wednesday under the joint auspices of the Forest Department, WWF, and the Green People Society. On this occasion, rural MLA Phool Singh Meena flagged off the Wildlife Awareness Chariot at the Sajjangarh Biological Park.
MLA Meena emphasized the importance of such events in inspiring today's youth and the general public about wildlife and the environment. Presiding over the program, Divisional Chief Conservator of Forests S.R.V. Moorthy highlighted the achievements of the Forest Department and urged every responsible citizen to fulfill their duties towards the environment. Special guest Rahul Bhatnagar, president of the Green People Society, shared information about the society's work in the environmental sector and encouraged students to take advantage of such initiatives.
Dr. Kamlesh Sharma, Joint Director of the Information and Public Relations Department, also expressed his thoughts during the event.
At the beginning, Deputy Conservator of Forests Devendra Kumar Tiwari provided details about the upcoming programs planned for Wildlife Week. The event was coordinated by Arun Soni, while Assistant Conservator of Forests Ganesh Gothwal expressed gratitude.
The program saw the participation of social workers Rajesh Vaishnav, Gopal Kumar, Dr. Om Parikh, wildlife enthusiast Devendra Mistry, Ranjana Mishra, and a large number of students. Among those from the department who contributed their services were Jayvardhan Singh, Gajendra Singh, Himmat Singh, Mohan Lal Lakhniwal, Hukumat Singh, and Bhanwar Singh Ranawat.
