Manipuri and Lavani Dances at Shilpgram Festival

Udaipur: The 'Shilpgram Festival,' organized by the West Zone Cultural Centre, Udaipur, from December 21 to 30, will feature the Manipuri folk dance 'Thougou Jagoee' and Maharashtra's 'Lavani' dance, both set to captivate the audience. The Manipuri dance 'Thougou Jagoee' is performed to please the local deity Lai Haroba, with dancers expressing heartfelt emotions through graceful movements and gestures to the beat of the music. On the other hand, 'Lavani' dance, known for its energetic and vibrant performances, will compel the audience to sway to its rhythm. The performances will take place on Shilpgram's open-air stage, with 19 male and female dancers showcasing these captivating dances.
