Chief Minister Sharma Discusses with 10 International Women Athletes

Udaipur: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma hosted a tea discussion at his residence in Jaipur with around 10 international-level female athletes from across the state. Among the attendees was Udaipur's international medalist kayaking athlete, Tanishq Patwa. During the discussion, the Chief Minister engaged with the athletes, learning about their respective sports and encouraging them by sharing information about government schemes and facilities available for players to further their careers.

Chandragupta Singh Chauhan, Chairman of the Rajasthan Kayaking Canoeing Association and social worker, shared that Tanishq Patwa informed the Chief Minister about her achievements and those of other players from Rajasthan at both national and international levels. Patwa emphasized that there is no water sports academy related to kayaking in Rajasthan, even though the state is producing the most national-level medals in kayaking and sends one athlete to international competitions annually. Currently, the only training center for this sport is located at Fatehsagar Lake in Udaipur, managed by the Rajasthan Kayaking Canoeing Association.

Dilip Singh Chauhan, Chairman of the Indian Dragon Boat Association, also mentioned that Patwa had submitted a proposal to establish a water sports academy at Fatehsagar Lake in Udaipur. The Chief Minister responded positively to the proposal and directed Neeraj K. Pawan, Chairman of the Rajasthan State Sports Council, to take necessary action to set up the water sports academy in Udaipur soon. Along with Patwa, her trainers, Dilip Singh Chauhan and Nishchay Singh Chauhan, were also present.
