BN University Students Stage Play on Water Conservation

Noida: Students from the Department of Geology at BN University recently staged a thought-provoking play titled *“If Only We Had Recharged It!”* under the guidance of water conservation expert, Dr. PC Jain. The performance was held as a roadshow at the university grounds, aimed at raising awareness about the importance of water conservation and the role of rainwater harvesting.

The play revolves around two sisters who continuously warn their father that the water level in their tube well is depleting. They urge him to implement rainwater harvesting to preserve the water. However, the father ignores their concerns. One day, as the elder sister is about to take a bath and the younger one is about to brush her teeth, they find that the water is completely depleted. Their aunt, who is present at the house, brings water from a distant handpump. The sisters then argue over who will use the water first, pulling each other's hair in the process. Their mother and aunt intervene, with the aunt complaining about the physical strain of fetching water from such a distance.

Eventually, the father decides to take action. He contacts Dr. PC Jain, a specialist in rainwater harvesting, and installs a water filter system connected to the tube well. When it rains, the tube well is recharged, and water begins to flow again. The family joyfully celebrates this success, with everyone exclaiming, "If only we had recharged it earlier!"

The play was performed by students Pallavi, Priyanka, Michelle, Lunchi, Riddhi, and Tanmay. The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Renu Rathore, Dr. Rajni Arora, Dr. Hemant Sen, and Dr. Sangeeta Rathore. Dr. MD Thakur and Mohabbat Singh Ji Rathore distributed the awards.
