Theater Photography Workshop and Exhibition Celebrate World Theatre Day

Udaipur: To mark World Theatre Day, the Western Region Cultural Centre Udaipur organized a two-day theater photography workshop. The workshop was inaugurated on Thursday morning with a lamp lighting ceremony by the chief guest, Shraddha Murdia.

Furkan Khan, Director of the Centre, shared that the workshop featured an exhibition of 75 selected theatrical photographs, captured by Rajdeep, showcasing the essence of stage art through photography.

Chief guest Shraddha Murdia praised the exhibition, emphasizing the importance of showcasing performing arts like acting, dance, and music through photography. She noted that such an initiative was a remarkable tribute to the dedication of artists and their craft.

The first session of the workshop focused on photography equipment and lighting, while the second session provided participants with hands-on practice. In the evening, participants had the opportunity to photograph a live stage performance. Senior photographer Rakesh Sharma ‘Rajdeep’ taught the nuances of theatrical photography, providing tips for both mobile and DSLR photography to capture high-quality photos and videos.

On March 28, a problem-solving session will be held, where the best participants will be awarded certificates and recognition for their efforts.

The event was attended by Deputy Director (Programs) Pawan Amarawat, C.L. Salvi, Hemant Mehta, Bhupendra Singh Kothari, and other dignitaries. The program was conducted by Siddhant Bhatnagar.
