Udaipur — The three-day sketch exhibition organized by Urban Sketchers Udaipur, marking the centennial of their weekly sketch meets, concluded on Thursday at the Information Centre. The exhibition was dedicated to showcasing the global community of sketch artists committed to on-location sketching.
The closing session featured a demonstration by renowned artist Omprakash Bijoliya, who captivated the audience with his art. The chief guest, social worker Mrs. Nitya Singhal, commended the artists and highlighted the role of art in expressing silent emotions. She noted that while the world is full of diverse feelings—happiness, sorrow, love, and hatred—art provides a unique medium to express these often inexpressible emotions. She praised Urban Sketchers for their effort in bringing these emotions to life through their exhibition and encouraged the artists to continue striving for excellence.
Awards were presented to sketch artist and architect Sunil Laddha and Rahul Mali for their contributions. Theatre artist and Kasturi Foundation head, Shraddha Murdia, welcomed the guests and provided information about Urban Sketchers. The event saw a significant turnout of art lovers, including Kapil Paliwal, Hemant Joshi, Dr. Chitraseen, and Nilofar Munir.
Before the exhibition's closure, a live demo session showcased Omprakash Soni's talent as he swiftly created a stunning pencil sketch of a woman on canvas, leaving the audience awestruck. Soni also provided insights into the nuances of art to aspiring artists.
The three-day exhibition at the Information Centre's art gallery generated considerable excitement among art enthusiasts. A large number of art lovers, experts, students, and the general public visited the exhibition over the three days.
