Day 2 of 1st Udaipur International Rating Chess Tournament Sees Top Players Dominating

Udaipur — The 1st Udaipur International Rating Chess Tournament, organized by the District Chess Association Udaipur, continued with its third round on September 13, 2024. The round was inaugurated by Chief Guest Ramesh Singhi, an industrialist, and distinguished guest Narendra Jain, also an industrialist. Ramesh Singhi encouraged all players to play with patience and strive for victory.

Event Secretary Swati Sarupariya reported that in the third round, top-seeded players maintained their dominance. On the top board, Nithin Babu from Kerala, with a rating of 2305, defeated Divyanshu Babel from Udaipur, rated 1793, maintaining a lead with 3 points. Similarly, on the second board, Dinesh Sharma from UP-LIC defeated Udaipur’s Parshv Parmar, and Maharashtra’s Mahindra Indrajeet won against Gourang Bhandari.

In other matches, Udaipur’s Monil Maru (1782) faced defeat against Anandkat Kartavya. Maharashtra’s Ram Vishal Parab (2075) won against Vishal Sharma, keeping his lead. Delhi’s Eshan Wadhwan (2009) triumphed over Chinmay Kannan Ayyar, while Karnataka’s Suman Saideep (1768) drew with K. K. Chatterjee. Andhra Pradesh’s Kolla Bhavan (1969) defeated Shah Veer Kunjun, and Udaipur’s Geet Jain (1756) and Kishan Kumar drew their game. Bihar’s Mritunjay Kumar (1950) and Ujjwal Bansal ended in a draw. Maharashtra’s Vaghish Swaminathan (1734) lost to Abhishek T. M.

Kerala’s Karan J. P. (1916) and Darsh Shetty had a draw. Bihar’s Bhupnath (1886) won against Aharsi Ghosh. Rajasthan’s Rishen Zilwa (1724) lost to Arnav Mahesh Kohli. West Bengal’s Ayush Das (1885) defeated Gaurav Nishad to advance. Delhi’s Sharma Harish (1876) won against Miranka Trishad. Maharashtra’s Apurva Shekhar Deshmukh (1717) won against Akshat Negi, while Rajasthan’s Arpit Saxena (1710) lost to Deepak Batra. West Bengal’s Arghya Sen (1811) triumphed over Alokik Maheshwari, and Uttar Pradesh’s Shivmohan Dwivedi (1700) won against Gajendra Singh. Maharashtra’s Kherdekar Arnav (1803) defeated Kanoge Alok, while Maharashtra’s Hindol Ghosh (1645) faced a loss to Chudasama Ankit.
