Presented by Kalander Society, this play, written by Mahesh Dattani and directed by Ruchi Bhargava, was staged at the Darpan Auditorium in Shilpgram, Udaipur on October 5, 2023. The play explores themes of love and betrayal within a family, shedding light on the sensitive issue of child sexual abuse and its impact on the victim’s life and personality.

The narrative poignantly depicts the plight of the main character, Mala, who is ensnared in silence and social indifference while grappling with her inner turmoil despite the external appearance of modernity. Her mother, Shanta, struggles with her own inner conflicts while remaining immersed in prayers for her daughter's well-being. Supporting characters, Vinay and Deepak, embody contrasting personalities that provide support to Mala. Through emotional connections and selfish motives, "Thirty Days in September" portrays the harsh realities of life.
