District Road Safety Committee Meeting

Udaipur: A meeting of the District Road Safety Committee was held on Friday at the Mini Auditorium of the Collectorate, under the direction of District Collector Arvind Poswal and the chairmanship of ADM City War Singh. The meeting began with a welcome address by Member Secretary and SE PWD Rajeev Agarwal, who discussed the proceedings of the previous meeting.

The ADM City emphasized coordinated efforts to streamline traffic management across the city and district and reduce accidents. He instructed special measures to be taken for traffic management during the tourist season to avoid any inconvenience to the general public and tourists.

During the meeting, officials from the National Highway Authority raised concerns about the disruption to traffic caused by liquor shops being established along the highway. They also pointed out the installation of small cabins, dhabas, and the breaking of service line fencing, leading to the creation of unauthorized pathways and raising the risk of accidents. In response, the ADM City instructed a survey of constructions adjacent to the highway's centerline and ordered a report to be submitted to the administration, police, and excise commissioner. He also directed the police to file an FIR against cases involving the breaking of fencing.

The meeting also discussed the installation and improvement of traffic lights. Regarding the decision to install high-resolution cameras and sensors at the Delhi Gate intersection, the ADM City instructed the Municipal Corporation to ensure the timely implementation of this decision. Rajeev Gupta, Assistant Engineer of the Udaipur Development Authority, informed the meeting that tenders for traffic lights at Amberi and Pratap Nagar intersections were in process.

The progress of the Green Mobility Zone program proposed by the Municipal Corporation for the Wall City was also discussed. Executive Engineer Akhil Kumar Goyal informed that the technical feasibility report was yet to be presented at the board meeting. The ADM City instructed that the report be submitted to the District Collector before the board's term expires. Additionally, the Transport Department was directed to arrange a joint meeting with the Hotel Association and the administration.

Regarding the promotion of night tourism, the ADM City discussed the development of a food court at the bus stand and asked for updates from the RSRDC and Roadways officials. He also instructed that a discussion be held with the higher management of Roadways.

Present at the meeting were DGM of the National Highway Authority, Navneet Kumar, Project Head, Suryapratap Singh, Resident Engineer, Satyanarayan Tiwari, Bhairulal Dangi, Chief Manager of Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation, Hemant Sharma, District Transport Officer II, Atul Kumar Sharma, Deputy CMHO Dr. Ankit Jain, Junior Engineer of Railways, Ankit Upadhyay, PO of RSRDC, Yunik Kansara, Assistant Engineer of PWD, Mukesh Balai, Nisha Vyas, Junior Engineer Amber Fatima, and others.
