Udaipur: A free BMD (Bone Mineral Density) test camp was organized by the Government Adarsh Ayurvedic Dispensary, Sindhi Bazaar, in collaboration with Jhandu Pharma, where more than 70 patients benefitted on Friday. Along with the BMD test, patients were also provided Ayurvedic medical consultations and essential medicines.
Senior Ayurvedic Physician and In-charge Vaidya Shobhalal Audichya stated that the patients were given advice on bone health-related issues. Dr. Audichya also advised the public to include calcium-rich foods in their diet for better bone health. He recommended fruits and vegetables such as papaya, banana, apple, orange, grapes, spinach, fenugreek, and cauliflower, dairy products like cow milk, buffalo milk, paneer, skimmed milk powder, and whole milk powder, dry fruits like almonds, cashews, and pistachios, and grains like ragi, millet, rice, wheat flour, soybeans, and urad dal. These food sources help in increasing calcium intake and strengthening bones.
The main aim of the camp was to raise awareness about bone-related issues like arthritis, osteoporosis, and vitamin D deficiency, and to provide patients with appropriate treatment.
