Two-Day National Workshop on Research Begins

Udaipur: A two-day National Workshop on "Qualitative Research in Education" commenced at Vidya Bhawan Government Teacher's College. In the inaugural session, the chief guest, educationist Prof. M.P. Sharma, emphasized that research is essential to address problems or to bring innovation when there are no existing issues. He highlighted that innovation is key to progress. He also stressed that our research and new ideas should reach school teachers and parents. Prof. Sharma further stated that quality in research will only be achieved when we work on it with sincerity. 

The guest of honor, Prof. Divya Prabha Nagar, stated that research should not be a mere formality. Researchers must adopt a research-oriented mindset for the research to be meaningful. She emphasized that research should not just be for obtaining a degree but should aim at educational advancement. 

Dr. Farzana Irfan, Principal of the College, shared that in the first session of the workshop, Prof. P.C. Jain discussed qualitative research and various methods through interactive discussions, explaining social research with different examples. In the second session, Prof. Sanjay Lodha led a discussion on collecting data and information through questionnaires. In the third session, Prof. S.K. Kataria discussed the case study method.

At the beginning of the workshop, Dr. Farzana Irfan, Principal, welcomed the guests and highlighted the objectives of the workshop. Dr. Akhtar Bano, the coordinator of the workshop, read the base paper, and Dr. Santosh Upadhyay conducted the session. The workshop is being attended by 70 M.Ed. students and research guides.
