Udaipur: A one-day training and orientation meeting for district-level Eco Club coordinators, under the National Green Corps Scheme of the Government of India, was held at the Vivekananda Auditorium of the Scout Guide Mandal Headquarters. The meeting was conducted under the chief guest, Mahak Sanadhya, the District Treasurer of Scout Guide, and was chaired by Assistant State Organization Commissioner, Manmohan Swarnkar.
During the meeting, District Treasurer Sanadhya instructed the coordinators to use the financial assistance provided for operating the Eco Clubs in accordance with financial regulations. Each Eco Club coordinator was given a cheque for a financial assistance amount of ₹2,500.
The coordinators present shared details about the activities being carried out under the Eco Clubs in schools. Assistant State Organization Commissioner Swarnkar emphasized that schools and colleges were selected to serve as role models for other institutions and to raise awareness among more students about environmental conservation.
Udaipur District Scout CO Surendra Kumar Pandey provided guidance on the formation, operation, and record-keeping of Eco Clubs in schools and colleges. He stressed the importance of using the financial assistance to promote environmental activities and sending the utilization certificate for the funds. Pandey highlighted activities like the construction and maintenance of Eco Club gardens, water and energy conservation, waste disposal, awareness rallies, city tours, competitions, field visits, and extensive tree plantation.
