Future engineers learn about solar cookers

Dr. Manju Jain, who has been cooking food with a solar cooker for 40 years in Arvind Nagar, today demonstrated to the students of the College of Technology and Agricultural Engineering how to cook using a solar cooker. The students tasted dishes like steamed amla, roasted semolina, and cooked cucumber in the solar cooker. Since this was their first time seeing a solar cooker, the students asked various questions to Dr. Manju Jain.

This is part of Dr. Jain's ongoing solar cooker awareness program. So far, she has trained 300 students and women in using the solar cooker. As a result, 30 people have purchased new solar cookers, and 20 others have started using old, unused solar cookers. Dr. P.C. Jain, a water conservation expert, was also present at the event.

The students who participated in the program included Anu Sharma, Bhumi Purohit, Priya Sangwan, Seema Jat, and Akshita Upadhyay from the college.
