Udaipur: The Academic Council meeting of Mohanlal Sukhadia University was held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Vice-Chancellor Professor Sunita Mishra, where various policy decisions were made. Notably, the meeting included student representation for the first time.
 

 
University spokesperson Dr. Kunj Bihari Acharya reported that this was the first meeting of the academic session, which included the approval of previous orders along with various new decisions. Vice-Chancellor Professor Sunita Mishra informed the council that the Honorable President of India, Droupadi Murmu, will visit the university next month. Preparations for her visit have already begun. She will participate in the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of the Geology Department, which is marking its 75th year. During the event, she will also lay the foundation stone for a new laboratory costing ₹2 crore.
 
The Academic Council approved approximately 51,000 degrees for various courses from the previous academic session. The Vice-Chancellor mentioned that the university has been continuously uploading degrees to DigiLocker, with 237,766 degrees uploaded so far, the highest in Rajasthan.
 
It was decided that there will be no fee increase for any course in the upcoming academic session; fees will remain the same as the previous session. Additionally, a decision was made to change the answer booklets used in exams. Exam Controller Dr. Rajesh Kumawat stated that this session’s exams will use newly designed answer sheets, replacing those that have been in use for nearly 15 years. It was also decided that undergraduate exams for regular and private students will be conducted together to avoid delays in result preparation.
 
The meeting approved the formation of a Student Grievance Redressal Cell. Dean of Student Welfare Professor Seema Jalan stated that the cell will organize a ‘Samadhan’ program to hear and resolve all types of student complaints.
 
The proposal from Law College Dean Dr. Rajshree Chaudhary to teach the new criminal law enacted in India from this academic session was approved. The curriculum will be updated accordingly to allow students to study the new laws. For the first time, students were allowed to participate in the meeting. Six toppers attended the meeting, including student Pranjal Dwivedi, who requested enhanced access to legal data, and student Anjali Sisodia, who emphasized the need for regular educational tours.
 
The meeting was attended by Dean of Commerce College Professor B.L. Verma, Dean of Social Sciences and Humanities Professor Hemant Dwivedi, Dean of Science College and Dean of PG Studies Professor Aarti Prasad, Chief Proctor Professor Puranmal Yadav, FMS Director Professor Meera Mathur, Chief Warden Professor Digvijay Bhatnagar, President of the Sports Board Professor Neeraj Sharma, and heads of all university departments. The meeting was conducted by Exam Controller Dr. Rajesh Kumawat.
