Lecture on Rainwater Conservation by Dr. Jain at the Department of Accounting and Statistics

At Mohanlal Sukhadia University, a lecture on rainwater conservation methods and their significance was held today at the Department of Accounting and Business Statistics. The Head of the Department, Prof. Shoorveer S. Bhanawat, welcomed Dr. P.C. Jain, a rainwater conservation expert, and highlighted the importance of water conservation in addressing global warming.

Dr. Jain, known for his dedication to social issues, particularly drug awareness, emphasized the importance of rainwater conservation. He explained that rainwater harvesting not only helps recharge groundwater but also improves the quality of subsurface water. He noted that the rainwater harvesting system is an effective method for naturally reducing the Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) in water and highlighted the health issues caused by RO water systems.

Dr. Jain provided insights into the installation methods and costs of rainwater harvesting systems, stating that one centimeter of rainfall yields one liter of water per square foot of roof area. With an average roof size of one thousand square feet in homes, 100 centimeters of rainfall could collect up to one lakh liters of water, costing approximately twenty lakh rupees.

At the end of the program, the department head expressed gratitude. The event was attended by Associate Professors Dr. Shilpa Verdiya, Dr. Shilpa Lodha, Dr. Asha Sharma, Dr. Parul Dashora, as well as research scholars and students from the department.
