### Grand Conclusion of Six-Day 'Deeksharambh' Course for Newly Admitted Students*

*Udaipur*: The grand conclusion of the six-day mandatory 'Deeksharambh' program for newly admitted students, as per the National Education Policy (NEP), took place at the state's first Dairy and Food Technology College. Dean Dr. Lokesh Gupta explained that the word 'Deeksharambh' is derived from the Sanskrit word 'Deeksha,' symbolizing commitment and transformation, while 'Arambh' signifies the beginning. This program is designed to help students integrate culturally, develop life and social skills, raise social awareness, and foster teamwork, leadership, creativity, and ethical values.

Dr. Gupta highlighted that this is the oldest Dairy and Food Technology College in Rajasthan, which has been contributing to the nation by producing skilled dairy and food technologists since 1982. The college's alumni, who are now in prestigious positions, continue to uphold its legacy by offering career guidance to their junior peers.

Co-professor and program in-charge Dr. Nikita Wadhawan emphasized that 'Deeksharambh' is more than just the start of an academic journey; it marks the beginning of a transformative voyage, aimed at shaping the future with creativity, integrity, and purpose. During the six-day program, students were introduced to innovations and motivated to complete their academic journey with discipline and consistency. The program also aimed to provide detailed information about the curriculum, career, and placement opportunities in a joyful environment, familiarizing students with the changes brought by NEP 2020.

Subject experts were invited daily to impart knowledge on various topics, and different activities were organized to enhance students' creativity, with mandatory participation. On the final day, awards were distributed to promote a spirit of competition among the students.

In his presidential address, Dr. S.K. Sharma, Assistant Director General of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, noted that 'Deeksharambh' has been an integral part of the ancient Gurukul tradition, helping new students acclimatize to their environment while introducing them to the institution’s culture. He stressed the importance of fostering respectful and harmonious relationships among students and faculty.

In his message, MPUAT Vice-Chancellor Dr. Ajit Kumar Karnataka lauded the revival of the ancient tradition of 'Deeksharambh' as an obligatory part of academic life under NEP 2020. He congratulated the college for being the first in the state to organize this program, expressing confidence that 'Deeksharambh' would prove to be a milestone for new students.
