Important Decisions from MPUAT Management Board's 63rd Meeting

Udaipur, December 17. The 63rd Management Board meeting of Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT) took several significant decisions. The university will now require newly appointed teachers and staff to sign a five-year bond. If they leave the university before this period, teachers will be liable to pay ₹5 lakh, and academic staff ₹2.5 lakh. Additionally, employees will be allowed to submit only two job applications per year for other positions.

It was also decided that the 18th convocation of MPUAT will be held on December 21, where the Governor and Chancellor, Shri Haribhau Bagde, will present 42 gold medals to students and confer degrees to 938 undergraduate, 181 postgraduate, and 62 Ph.D. students.

The board also decided to promote 10 assistant professors to senior scale and elevate two senior scale faculty members to associate professor positions. Furthermore, 32 associate professors will be promoted to the position of professor. The board approved the university's projected budget for 2024-25 and the revised budget for 2023-24.

Dr. R.C. Agarwal, Deputy Director General (Agricultural Education) of ICAR, who attended the meeting online, praised MPUAT for its exceptional work in teaching, research, extension, and innovation, making it a national leader. He stated that other universities should take a lesson from the quality of work being done at MPUAT. The visionary thinking and unparalleled ability of Vice-Chancellor Dr. Karnataka in implementing programs for farmers and the public have made MPUAT a role model.
