Udaipur : A special lecture on the topic "Indian Knowledge Systems and Contemporary Discoveries" was organized at the New Auditorium of Rajasthan College of Agriculture, a constituent of Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT), Udaipur, in memory of the college’s founder, Dr. A. Rathore.

The keynote speaker and chief guest, Dr. B.P. Sharma, Chairperson of UNESCO-MGIEP and President of Pacific Group of Universities, highlighted that many modern scientific discoveries have already been mentioned in India's ancient Vedic texts. He emphasized the relevance of studying ancient scriptures and shared how the dietary practices of our ancestors helped them stay disease-free. He cited the example of fenugreek (methi), traditionally used despite its bitterness, as highly beneficial to human health.

Dr. Sharma also shed light on the harmful effects of chemical-based farming and stressed the importance of returning to traditional agricultural practices for a healthier future.

Dr. Ajit Kumar Karnatak, Vice-Chancellor of MPUAT and JNVU Jodhpur, paid tribute to Dr. Rathore and praised his visionary leadership in establishing Rajasthan College of Agriculture in 1955, marking a significant milestone in agricultural education. He appealed to all deans of MPUAT to organize memorial lectures annually in honor of their respective founding leaders.

Dean Dr. R.B. Dubey welcomed all participants and highlighted the importance of the lecture theme in today’s context. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. S.S. Lakhawat, Assistant Dean, Student Welfare. Dr. Virendra Nepalya, Special Officer, Vice-Chancellor’s Secretariat, conducted the proceedings and extended gratitude to all dignitaries.
