Steps Toward Going Local to Global: Dr. Karnataka

###Positive Change in Placement Rates

**Udaipur:** Dr. Ajeet Kumar Karnataka, Vice-Chancellor of Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT), called for a move from local to global at the inauguration session of a one-day job fair -24 organized by the Placement Cell of the College of Community and Applied Sciences, MPUAT.

**Significance of Community and Applied Sciences**

Dr. Karnataka, as the chief guest, emphasized the importance of community and applied sciences. He highlighted that this is the only discipline where all five departments—Food Science and Nutrition, Human Development and Family Studies, Resource Management and Consumer Science, Textile and Apparel Design, and Extension Education and Communication Management—prepare students not only for rural but also for global community development. The courses are designed to develop practical skills along with theoretical knowledge, enabling students to establish themselves as job providers rather than job seekers.
