MPUAT Organizes Extensive Tree Planting Program under the "A Tree in the Name of Mother" Campaign

Udaipur, the Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT) conducted a significant tree planting event across eight districts as part of the honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s "A Tree in the Name of Mother" initiative. This extensive tree planting was organized to coincide with World Population Day, emphasizing the ecological and personal responsibility each individual holds towards environmental stewardship.

Colonel Prof. Shiv Singh Sarangdevot, the Chairperson of MPUAT, along with the Managing Director Mohabbat Singh Rathore, led the initiative. Various types of plants, including neem, mango, jamun, and guava, were planted in the university's directorates, colleges, and Agricultural Science Centers.

Prof. Sarangdevot addressed the NSS volunteers and NCC cadets, highlighting the fundamental role trees play in our lives—from reducing global warming to preventing soil erosion and maintaining ecological balance. He encouraged everyone to take personal responsibility for planting and nurturing trees to enhance the environment.

Managing Director Mohabbat Singh Rathore also spoke, urging the volunteers and cadets to engage in more social and national activities. Dr. Mahendra Singh Agaria, a minister at the institution, praised the initiative, noting that such efforts help return a part to nature from what we take.

The event saw active participation from faculty members and students, including planting activities led by Dr. Sunil Joshi, Director PM, and other notable academicians and administrators. This campaign not only enhances the green cover but also serves as an educational platform for students, emphasizing the critical importance of environmental conservation in today's context.
