Udaipur: A one-day training session on *"Processing and Value Addition in Spice Crops"* was organized by the College of Community and Behavioral Sciences, Udaipur, in collaboration with the Betel Nut and Spice Development Directorate, Calicut, Kerala, at the Gudli Panchayat Samiti in Udaipur.
Dr. Hemu Rathod, retired Professor from the College of Community and Behavioral Sciences, Udaipur, led the session and explained the importance of processing and value addition in spice crops for women farmers. Training officer from Arpan Seva Sansthan, Mr. Ratnesh, discussed the significance of spice crops and advanced farming techniques.
Following this, young professional Yogita Paliwal from the college elaborated on the value addition of chili and demonstrated various product-making techniques to the women farmers. She also educated them on precautions to be taken during packaging. Another young professional, Chitrakshi, discussed turmeric value addition and provided hands-on demonstrations to the participants.
A total of 50 progressive women farmers attended the training. The experts addressed various issues faced by the women farmers and provided solutions. Additionally, seed kits, including chili and fenugreek seeds, were distributed to all the participants for kitchen gardening.
The training session was conducted with the significant contributions of Arpan Seva Sansthan's Prakash Dangi, Ram Singh Sisodia, and other team members. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Yogita Paliwal.
