Udaipur: A special camp under the National Service Scheme (NSS) was organized at the constituent colleges of Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur. Around 300 students attended the event, where the Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Ajit Kumar Karnataka, addressed them on the topic "The Role of Youth in Social Change for a Developed India."
In his address, Dr. Karnataka emphasized that it is the youth who can empower and educate the masses, including the land, forests, animals, and people, through awareness and practical education. He highlighted the immense energy and potential inherent in youth, which plays a critical role in nation-building and its progress in the coming years. Drawing inspiration from Swami Vivekananda, he called upon NSS volunteers to serve the nation with courage, focusing on essential tasks like cleanliness, water conservation, soil preservation, and wildlife protection.
Earlier, the event commenced with the lighting of the lamp by dignitaries, followed by a warm welcome of the Vice-Chancellor Dr. Ajit Kumar Karnataka by Dr. Manoj Kumar Mahla, Student Welfare Officer and NSS Coordinator, who presented him with a shawl, turban, and a bouquet of flowers.
In his speech, the Chief Guest, the Dean of CTAE, encouraged NSS volunteers to enthusiastically participate in nation-building activities, stressing the importance of youth involvement in the nation’s progress. Their positive outlook towards the country must be nurtured to foster an empowered and constructive future.
The event was also attended by various dignitaries, including Dr. Dhriti Solanki, Dean of Community Science & Behavior College, Dr. Lokesh Gupta, Dr. R.L. Sona, Director of Extension Education Directorate, Dr. Anupam Bhatnagar, Mr. Madandas from Skon Trust, Dr. S.L. Meena, Dr. Monica Rai, Ms. Kusum Meghwal, Dr. Vinod Yadav, Dr. Vivek, Dr. Vikram, and Mr. Som Shekhar Vyas.
The ceremony was conducted by Dr. Vikramaditya Dave, ADSW, and Dr. Ranveer Singh Shekhawat expressed gratitude and thanks to the guests and students.
