Importance and Unique Features of Chhath Puja:

This ritual is performed without the assistance of any priest or pandit, with devotees themselves offering prayers with full faith and devotion.

It involves the worship of Lord Sun, with special emphasis on offering prayers during the setting sun and offering arghya to the rising sun.

This worship is beyond caste, community, or class, and all devotees participate with equal reverence.

Folk songs are sung during the ritual, and special dishes (prasad) are prepared in homes, fostering unity and love within families and communities.

There is no discrimination at the ghats, all devotees worship equally and partake in the prasad.

It is a symbol of social harmony, goodwill, peace, and simplicity in society.
