Udaipur: The Pacific Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) in Udaipur organized a cadaver workshop, which was the first of its kind in Rajasthan, where orthopedic doctors from various states of India received training in all aspects of shoulder surgery, including the latest techniques.
During the event, Dr. Sanjay Desai, President of the Asian Shoulder Association and a shoulder surgeon at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai, discussed complex and intricate shoulder surgeries with all the doctors present, highlighting the possibility of performing such surgeries in Udaipur. He also conducted training on reverse shoulder surgery techniques and their intricacies.
Dr. Parag Shah, a renowned shoulder and upper limb surgeon from Ahmedabad, provided insights to participating surgeons on the challenges and benefits of total shoulder surgery. Additionally, Dr. Gaurav Jain from Udaipur shared his experiences in hololens and navigated shoulder surgery.
Welcoming the participants, Mr. Ashish Agrawal and Mrs. Sheetal Agrawal, Chairman of PIMS, expressed their commitment to continue organizing such events in the future. They assured that all necessary resources would be made available for this purpose. Mr. Agrawal emphasized his dream of making Udaipur a hub for the latest medical techniques and technologies in the field of healthcare.
Dr. B.L. Kumar, Head of the Department at PIMS Medical College, mentioned that not only doctors from Udaipur but also orthopedic surgeons from Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Maharashtra participated in the program. He praised Dr. Kumar for organizing lectures and training sessions on new techniques for orthopedic surgeons, even during his tenure as the head of the orthopedics department at RN-T Medical College in Udaipur.
