Fit India Week and World Meditation Day Celebrated at PIMS

Udaipur: Pacific Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), under Sai Tirupati University, organized Fit India Week and World Meditation Day at its Umarda campus in Udaipur. The purpose of celebrating these events was to promote the benefits of meditation and encourage its integration into daily life. The special day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and participation, with the aim of raising awareness among students, teachers, and staff about the importance of meditation, yoga, and fitness, and motivating them to adopt these practices for better physical and mental health.

During the event, group yoga and fitness sessions were conducted, with over 300 students, teachers, and staff actively participating. Yoga instructor, Prof. Dr. Chetan Doshi from the Pharmacology Department, led the yoga and meditation session, introducing participants to the benefits of meditation. A 20-minute guided meditation and a 30-minute pranayama session were conducted. Participants reported feeling relaxation, peace, and energy after the meditation session.

The event highlighted the importance of mental and physical health, inspiring the entire PIMS community. Fit India Week and World Meditation Day marked a significant step for PIMS, promoting a culture of self-care and awareness. Dr. Suresh Goyal, Principal of the college, shared insights about the main objectives of the events. The event was also attended by Dr. Sarita Kant, Superintendent, and Dr. Dilip Kumar Parik, Academic Director. Prof. Dr. Pranav Kumar from the Forensic Medicine Department welcomed the guests and coordinated the event, expressing thanks to all participants.
