PIMS Mewar Cup Season 3: Kohan Kothari of Udaipur Hits First Century of the Tournament with a Shower of Boundaries and Sixes

Udaipur: In the ongoing third season of the PIMS Mewar Cup at the Field Club Ground in Lake City, GR Cricket Academy and PIMS emerged victorious in their respective matches played on Thursday. Kohan Kothari of PIMS made a thrilling performance by hitting a flurry of fours and sixes, scoring the first century of the tournament, which captivated the audience. This year, the Mewar Cup will also feature international, national, and IPL players showcasing their boundary-hitting skills. Following the success of last year’s PIMS Mewar Cup, the third edition is being organized this year under the patronage of PIMS Hospital Umarda and Miraj Pipe and Fittings.

Organizers Naman Agarwal and Kuldeep Ameria informed that in the T-20 competition held at Field Club, the first match of the day saw Adittyam Real Estate-1 set a target of 189 runs in 20 overs after losing 8 wickets. Krishna Pandey contributed 68 runs, and Karan Dave added 25 runs. Shubham Patwal took two wickets. In reply, GR Cricket Academy chased down the required runs in just 15.4 overs, losing only two wickets. Kunal Rathore scored 81, while Shubham Patwal contributed 59 runs. Shubham Patwal was declared the Man of the Match.

Organizers Chandrapal Singh Chundawat and Harshit Dhabhai shared details of the second match, where Liberty, batting first, posted 174 runs losing 9 wickets. Yash Sharma scored 55, and Apoorv Wankhede contributed 34 runs. Subodh Bhati took two wickets. In response, PIMS reached the target in 18.4 overs, losing 4 wickets. Kohan Kothari, with a spectacular knock, scored the first century of the tournament. He hit 108 runs off 63 balls. Additionally, Faizal Rashid contributed 35 runs. Mayank Dagar took 3 wickets. Kohan Kothari was named the Man of the Match.

The tournament features teams including Liberty, PIMS, MPC, Delhi Challengers, Udaipur Lakecity Warriors, Udaipur Cricket Academy, Adittyam Real Estate, and GR Cricket Academy. International cricketers like Deepak Hooda, Rahul Chahar, Navdeep Saini, Ravi Bishnoi, Rajat Patidar, Yash Dhull, Suyash Prabhu Desai, Ayush Badoni, Jitesh Sharma, and Ashutosh Sharma will also be seen displaying their skills with the bat and ball.

A lucky draw will be held every day, and on the final day, a lucky winner will receive an electric scooter. The winning team will be awarded a cash prize of five lakh rupees, and the runners-up will receive three lakh rupees. The first six matches will be played at the Field Club Ground, with the semifinals and final scheduled at Miraj Cricket Stadium in Nathdwara.
