Free Bone Mineral Density Camp Held at Udaipur

In Udaipur, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Pacific Medical College & Hospital organized a free Bone Mineral Density (BMD) screening camp. Dr. Rajrani Sharma, the head of the department, reported that the camp was held from 10:30 AM to 2 PM, during which 138 women underwent BMD tests.

What is a BMD Test?
A Bone Mineral Density (BMD) test is performed to assess the strength of bones. It utilizes Dual-energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DEXA) technology to measure the density of the bones. The test provides valuable insights into the calcium and other minerals present in the bones, identifying potential weaknesses such as osteopenia and osteoporosis. This screening is crucial for diagnosing conditions that lead to bone weakening.
