Immunotherapy Effective in Cancer Treatment

Udaipur– With advancements in medical science, new diagnostic tests and treatment techniques are continually emerging. While cancer is often considered an incurable disease in India, timely specialized treatment can be beneficial. Program Director Dr. Manoj Mahajan highlighted the benefits and drawbacks of the latest immunotherapy techniques in cancer treatment at a one-day conference of medical oncologists in Udaipur. Oncologists from across the state shared case-based experiences, stating that immunotherapy has shown benefits for cancer patients with fewer side effects compared to chemotherapy. The conference was chaired by Dr. S. Das, Dr. Devendra Jain, Dr. Saurabh Sharma, and Dr. Sumit Agarwal.

Dr. Manoj Mahajan, Program Director at Pacific Medical and Hospital and Director and Senior Consultant at Paras Health, explained that while several traditional options are available for cancer treatment, new advancements are yielding positive results. Immunotherapy has been beneficial for many cancer cases, as it strengthens the patient's immune system. Immunotherapy is now being used in Udaipur. The conference featured experts like Dr. Ankit Agarwal, Dr. Aseem Kesamar, Dr. Mukesh Kumar, Dr. Manoj Mahajan, Dr. Taranchand Gupta, Dr. Hemant Kumar Dadhich, Dr. Renu Mishra, Dr. Sachin Jain, Dr. Abhishek Sharma, Dr. Mansi Sandeep Shah, and Dr. Rohit J. Rebello, who discussed how immune cells help fight cancer cells. This therapy boosts the patient's ability to combat cancer effectively. Many patients have benefited significantly from immunotherapy, which is tailored to individual needs. Immune cells directly attack cancer cells without harming healthy cells, reducing the likelihood of cancer recurrence. Additionally, immunotherapy has fewer side effects and can be used to treat other diseases as well.
