International Conference on 'Emerging Horizons of Chemistry in the 21st Century' Concludes

Pacific University recently concluded a two-day international conference on "Emerging Horizons of Chemistry in the 21st Century," organized by the Department of Postgraduate Studies and Chemistry.

The chief guest, Prof. B.P. Sharma, President of the Pacific Group, highlighted the unique knowledge of zinc acquisition, stating that it was traditionally known only to Indians. He referred to ancient texts, mentioning the phrase "ताम्र यस प्रदयाते इति यसदह," which denotes the importance of zinc.

Prof. Hemant Kothari, President of Pacific University, congratulated all the winners, emphasizing that this conference would undoubtedly provide dimensions for all researchers and young scientists in the 21st century.

Dr. Neelu Chauhan from Kota University shared detailed insights on hydrogen gas emission, explaining that the gas can be used as fuel by splitting water molecules.

Prof. Sangeeta Sharma from Uttargujarat University discussed human tau protein responsible for dementia and the molecular potential and medicinal efficacy of flavonoids from herbal plants. Prof. Uma Sharma from Vikram University, Ujjain, shared information related to the use of advanced molecular chemistry for the synthesis of micro-materials, emphasizing that advanced molecular and nanotechnology will be effective in facing the challenges of the 21st century.

Prof. S. Ravichandran from Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar, delivered an invited lecture on controlling global warming through green chemistry, highlighting its significant role in sustainable future development.

The conference witnessed participation from 247 researchers and scientists from various countries, with 138 posters and 35 oral research papers presented.

Awards were given for the best poster presentations, recognizing senior scientists Dinesh Borasi, Shailesh Kumar Patel, and Amit Sharma, along with junior scientists Shaili Sharma, Priyanka Kuwar Rao, Kajal Shakeel Mahabari, and Nidhi Pathak.

For oral research presentations, senior scientists Mitul Thakkar, Nitin Chaudhary, Paras Kumar, and Jiges Shah were awarded, while junior scientists Sourav Kumar Maity, Charul Paliwal, and Gauri Shukla were also recognized.

The award distribution ceremony was attended by Prof. B.P. Sharma, Prof. Hemant Kothari, Prof. S.C. Dileendra Hiran, Ameta, Prof. Rameshwar Ameta, and Prof. Rakshit Ameta. At the end of the ceremony, Prof. Rameshwar Ameta, Dean of the Faculty of Science, expressed gratitude. The event was conducted by Prof. Neetu Shorgar.
