Pacific College of Basic and Applied Sciences, Pacific University, celebrated the birthday of India's renowned scientist, Jagdish Chandra Bose, on November 30, 2024. On this occasion, the University’s President, Prof. Hemant Kothari, honored his contributions to the field of science and inspired participants to develop scientific thinking.
The event began with a motivational speech by the Chairman of the Faculty of Science and Technology, Prof. Dileendra Hiran, who highlighted Bose's contributions to wireless communication and electrophysiology, encouraging students to pursue these fields.
Later, the Dean of the Faculty of Science, Prof. Rameshwar Ameta, explained that Jagdish Chandra Bose was the first Indian scientist to study plant life scientifically. He invented the Crescograph, an instrument to measure plant growth, in the early 20th century.
The program saw a large participation of students, who presented posters and PowerPoint presentations on Jagdish Chandra Bose’s contributions to plant science and the optics of microwaves.
The event was conducted by Dr. Rakhi Mehta and Don Reshmenariya. At the end of the program, Dr. Par Satank expressed gratitude to all the attendees. All faculty members were present at the event, where they educated students about the remarkable achievements of Jagdish Chandra Bose.
