Students from the Pacific Institute of Business Studies, including those from BBA, B.Com, and BA Journalism and Mass Communication programs, demonstrated their social responsibility by organizing a collective clothing donation drive. Faculty members also joined the initiative by contributing their unused yet wearable clothing. Garments for individuals of all age groups were collected and handed over to voluntary organizations for distribution to the needy.
Principal Dr. Anurag Mehta emphasized that this initiative is not only a step towards fostering a sense of cooperation and solidarity but also contributes to environmental conservation. He highlighted that clothing production involves significant water and energy usage, and extending the life of produced garments helps reduce pressure on natural resources.
Dr. Ali Asgar June, the campaign coordinator, stated that under the new education policy, topics such as social responsibility and Indian values are being integrated into management education. Initiatives like this drive are part of the university’s efforts to implement these aspects through socially beneficial activities.
