Workshop on Intergenerational Relationships Concludes with Empowering Women

Udaipur: The 8th and final session of the intergenerational relationship workshop series, organized by the Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Center of Sangam University, Bhilwara, concluded with a focus on women’s empowerment. The event was held in collaboration with the National Institute of Social Defence (NISD), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India. 

The session was inaugurated with a lamp lighting ceremony by Dr. Manas Ranjan Panigrahi, Vice Chancellor, Sangam University; Megha Goyal, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Mandal; Dr. Rajiv Mehta, Registrar; Shyam Birla, CEO of Kesar Bai Soni Hospital; and Yash Sharma. Dr. Manoj Kumawat, the program coordinator, welcomed the guests and shared that more than 700 college students benefited from the workshops sponsored by NISD.

In his welcome address, Prof. Panigrahi highlighted the critical role of women in establishing harmony between three generations within the family unit. The first session focused on women’s health, with Dr. Dipesh Kumari Agarwal, a health expert from Kesar Bai Soni Hospital, discussing the health challenges faced by women from childhood to adulthood and the importance of health awareness.

In the second session, Megha Goyal, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Mandal, emphasized that children raised in supportive family environments are less likely to engage in criminal activities. She encouraged women to fight for their rights with the support of their families and become financially self-sufficient to help their families.

The workshop also celebrated the winners of district-level competitions in arts, essay writing, and poetry, with trophies and certificates presented by the guests. A special art gallery was set up to appreciate the works of the competitors. Dr. Jyoti Verma, Principal of Roopi Devi Girls College, Bhilwara, mentored 60 female students who participated in the workshop. 

Several faculty members, including Dr. Preeti Mehta, Dr. Tanuja Singh, Dr. Rajkumar Jain, Dr. Shweta Bohra, Dr. Mukesh Kumar Sharma, Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Dr. Rameshwar Raykwar, Dr. Gaurav Saxena, Dr. Kanika Chaudhary, and others, were also present at the event.
