As a New Year’s gift to the public, the Sri Ganganagar-Delhi Intercity and Kisan Express trains will be upgraded with LHB (Linke Hofmann Busch) coaches starting from the new year. The announcement regarding the allocation of these coaches has already been made by the railway authorities. According to Bhim Sharma, former member of the ZRUCC (Zonal Railway Users Consultative Committee), passengers traveling on the Kisan Express operating between Bhatinda and Delhi will also benefit from this upgrade.
Captain Shashikiran, Chief Public Relations Officer of North Western Railway, informed that the train service numbers 12482/12481, running between Sri Ganganagar and Delhi, will be operated with LHB coaches from January 4, 2025, from Sri Ganganagar and from January 5, 2025, from Delhi. Similarly, the Delhi-Bhatinda-Delhi train service (train number 14731/14732) will also be upgraded with LHB coaches from January 4, 2025, from Delhi, and from January 5, 2025, from Bhatinda.
These trains will feature a total of 15 coaches, including one air-conditioned chair car, two third AC economy coaches, one second sleeper, three second-class chair cars, six general category coaches, one power car, and one guard’s coach.
