Sri Ganganagar, On the occasion of Constitution Day (November 26, 2024), a seminar and quiz competition were organized on Tuesday by the Information Centre and the Government Public District Library. The speakers at the event highlighted that the Indian Constitution is the soul of the nation, empowering and educating every citizen. Winners of the seminar and quiz competitions were also felicitated during the event.
The program began with the offering of flowers at the portrait of Goddess Saraswati, followed by the inauguration by the dignitaries. Library President Dr. Ramnarayan Sharma, in his address, elaborated on the preparation of the Indian Constitution by the Constituent Assembly, emphasizing its features and objectives. He urged every citizen to stay aware of their duties towards the Constitution.
Senior litterateur Shri Madan Arora stated that after India’s independence, the process of drafting the Constitution was initiated by the Constituent Assembly, ensuring representation from all sections of society. The Constitution was created with due consideration of the feelings and needs of all communities. He also called for citizens to remain aware of their duties alongside their rights as outlined in the Constitution.
Writer Shri Maniram Setiya highlighted the framework, significance, and features of the Indian Constitution through his poetry, explaining how it was crafted. He noted that while the Constitution is handwritten, it is both rigid and flexible, ensuring inclusion and representation for all communities and religions.
Assistant Director of the Information and Public Relations Office, Shri Anil Kumar Shakya, extended his best wishes for Constitution Day and shared how the Indian Constitution empowers citizens. He explained that the articles and provisions mentioned in the Constitution are essential for every citizen’s life, especially in areas like education, employment, and livelihood.
During the event, the seminar and quiz competition took place. Students Pawan Sain, Rajesh Charan, Nishant Charan, Narendra Bishnoi, Gaurav Nagpal, and Sonu delivered speeches on the Indian Constitution. The quiz competition, based on the Constitution, saw Mukesh Kumar, Mukesh Sharma, Roopsingh, Sonu, Bhupendra Kumar, and Ravina Bishnoi emerge as winners. Following the competitions, both winners and participants were awarded prizes. The program concluded with the reading of the Preamble to the Indian Constitution.
