Sri Ganganagar, In line with the Child Marriage-Free India Campaign, a legal awareness camp was organized by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Sri Ganganagar, under the leadership of Secretary Shri Gajendra Singh Tenguriya (Additional District and Sessions Judge) on Wednesday at the Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Matka Chowk, Sri Ganganagar.
During the campaign, the female students of the school took a pledge not to engage in child marriage before the legally prescribed age of marriage. They were also informed about reporting any child marriages in their surroundings to the authorities, including the police, and assured that the identity of the informants would remain confidential. Shri Tenguriya emphasized that child marriage negatively impacts the mental and physical health of girls.
Chief Legal Aid Defense Council System Officer Shri Rohitash Yadav urged the local residents to report any incidents of child marriage to the administration or the District Legal Services Authority. He reassured the participants that their personal information would be kept confidential.
Shri Karan Kumar and Shri Tushar Gupta, Assistants in the Legal Aid Defense Council System, provided students with information about their rights and laws related to child marriage.
Approximately 175 students took part in the Child Marriage-Free India Pledge ceremony, raising awareness about the issue. The event was attended by the school principal, Mrs. Anita Raheja, Shri Rohitash Yadav, Chief, Shri Karan Kumar, Shri Tushar Gupta, and other school staff members.
