A remarkable achievement in passenger, parcel, and other coaching income in railway

Shri Ashutosh Gangal, General Manager, Northern Railway, informed that despite various hurdles and challenges, Northern Railway had made remarkable achievements in passenger, parcel, and other coaching earnings in the financial year 2022-23. Northern Railway has secured the first position among all the Zonal Railways of Indian Railways by earning maximum passenger, parcel, and other coaching income.
       He said that during the year 2022-23, Northern Railway had touched three new dimensions of revenue earning in commercial income, under which in the financial year 2022-23, with revenue earning of Rs 10 thousand crore in basic passenger income, it has become the first among all regional railways. The place has been obtained. Northern Railway has become the first railway to achieve this feat. Northern Railway reached the challenging target of Rs 10168 crore passenger earnings for the financial year 2022-23 given by the Railway Board in the first week of March 2023. The final figure for this financial year is estimated to be around Rs 11,000 crore. This is not only the best-ever record of Northern Railway, but it has also maintained its position in the passenger segment by earning the highest among all Zonal Railways. Northern Railway has earned about Rs 4000 crore more than the earnings of the second-largest railway in terms of passenger earnings.
  He informed that by March 20, 2023, the other coaching income had touched the figure of Rs 1000 crore for the first time, leaving other Zonal Railways behind by registering revenue of Rs 1052 crore. This is also the best record to date and is Rs 250 crore more than the earnings of Shreshtha Zonal Railways, which comes second. Similarly, the parcel income has crossed Rs 500 crore in the financial year 2022-23, the highest among all Zonal Railways. The payment of Northern Railway is Rs 200 crore more than Railways's, which is in the second position in parcel income. No other Zonal Railway has crossed the Rs 500 crore mark in a financial year. Northern Railway's best earnings performance in passenger and parcel segments during the financial year 2022-23 has been historic.
