Sriganganagar: A two-day training workshop on the topic of "Scientific Goat Farming and Management" under the Atma Scheme was inaugurated at the Suratgarh Livestock Center under the guidance of Dr. Arun Kumar Jhirawal, the center's chief officer.
Dr. Manish Kumar Sen welcomed livestock keepers from various tehsils and villages in Sriganganagar and highlighted the economic significance of goat farming and the various training programs offered by the Pashu Vigyan Kendra (Animal Science Center) at Rajasthan University. He provided detailed information about the workshops conducted by the center. Additionally, he discussed goat nutrition, deworming medication, and various goat diseases such as hoof-and-mouth disease, goatpox, pneumonia, and contagious ecthyma, along with preventive measures.
Dr. Sen also explained the method of applying the boon called "Azolla" as feed for livestock and shared insights on feeding techniques. The workshop included an interactive session where livestock keepers could ask questions and receive valuable suggestions related to livestock management.
