Two-Day Goat Farming Training Camp Organized Under the 'Atma Yojana' Initiative

Sriganganagar: The Suratgarh Animal Science Center organized a two-day scientific workshop on goat farming and management under the 'Atma Yojana' initiative. The chief guest at the event was the Director of Agriculture and Self-sufficiency, Dr. Vinod Gautam (Sriganganagar). He provided detailed information about various schemes under the 'Atma' initiative and encouraged farmers and livestock keepers to participate in the training."

"Dr. Arun Kumar Jhirawal, the Center's Administrative Officer, inaugurated the second day of training and emphasized that economic benefits in goat farming depend on factors such as good breeds, scientific management, proper care of female goats, and adequate arrangements for newborn kids. He provided extensive information on feeding, fodder management, and kid nutrition."

"Dr. Manish Kumar Sen discussed issues related to infertility in goats, its causes, prevention, and the importance of goat milk for human health. He also highlighted the significance of deworming, mineral salts, and Azolla grass in goat farming. The participants were given a tour of the center's laboratory, Azolla unit, silage, and were provided detailed information on these aspects. At the end of the training camp, a question and answer session was conducted, and certificates of participation were distributed to the 36 livestock keepers who attended the program."
