### Three-Day Kudo Seminar Begins, Training 50,000 Students in Kudo

#### Udaipur, The international training camp for Kudo, organized under the joint aegis of S.R.A.M.M.A and the Kudo Association of Rajasthan, commenced today at the Sensei Combat Arena in Udaipur and the headquarters of Kudo Rajasthan. Additionally, during this period, approximately 50,000 children from 40 schools in the city will receive Kudo training for self-defense. This training camp will see Japan's Kudo World Champion Teraguchi Norohide visit various schools in both urban and rural areas to provide Kudo martial arts training to the children.

#### Special Guests and Training Details

Rajkumar Menaria of SRA Mixed Martial Arts shared that Teraguchi Norohide, the Kudo World Champion from Japan, has come to Udaipur for the first time. He emphasized the relevance and utility of Kudo in today’s time, stating that Udaipur is fortunate to host such a distinguished figure who will impart world-class training in Kudo martial arts to the children of Udaipur.

#### Training Goals

The goal is to train about 50,000 children from 40 schools over the three-day period. Kudo martial arts is a blend of various arts, encompassing elements from multiple sports. Learning Kudo can eliminate the need to learn other martial arts. The purpose of offering this world-class Kudo training in Udaipur is to prepare players who can excel not only at the national level but also internationally, bringing laurels to Udaipur. Winning championships in Kudo also opens up job opportunities.

#### National and International Recognition

Hanshi Mehul Vora, India’s chief trainer, highlighted that this is the first time a world champion is conducting training in Udaipur. After Udaipur, similar training sessions will be organized in Bikaner, Jodhpur, and Alwar. The Kudo training institute is recognized by the Indian government. In 2023-24, ten players from India became national champions, all of whom were subsequently offered jobs by the government.

#### Concerns and Advocacy

Vora raised concerns about the Self Defense Federation of India (SDFI), alleging malpractice that jeopardizes the future of players. He criticized the appointment of PTIs (Physical Training Instructors) as referees in Kudo events, questioning their competence and the potential risk to players' safety. Vora called for referees recognized by the Indian government’s Kudo institution to ensure justice for the children’s future. He expressed confidence in winning this fight for the right referees.

#### Notable Participants

The event was graced by several notable figures, including Renshi Vispi Kharadi, Secretary General of Kudo India, who holds ten world records, international Kudo player Vipasha Menaria, and female world champion Rajnandini Menaria.

#### Seminar Structure and Participation

Vipas Menaria, the event secretary, mentioned that the international training camps have been organized at four locations—Udaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, and Alwar (Bhiwadi)—keeping the convenience of the players in mind. These camps aim to benefit over 4,000 Kudo players, including 25 international players and more than 100 national medal holders, with the experienced training of the world champion.

The camp includes three sessions of two hours each, covering six hours daily, focusing on four segments of Kudo: Judo, Jujutsu, Karate, Boxing, Thai Boxing, and Krav Maga, incorporating the best techniques from these disciplines. Schools participating in the Udaipur camp include four Kudo training academies, DPS Udaipur, Rayon International School Udaipur, Witty International School, Rockwoods High School, MMPS, CPS School, along with 40 other schools and five universities, benefiting over 500 players. The camp will conclude on Sunday, 7th July 2024.
