Deepankar Chakravarty from Udaipur Runner-up in ITF-200 Masters Tennis

Udaipur: The ITF-200 World Masters Tennis Tournament, organized by the International Tennis Federation in Trivandrum, concluded today. Udaipur's veteran tennis player, Deepankar Chakravarty, delivered an outstanding performance, securing the runner-up position in both singles and doubles in the 60+ age category. The winners were honored with trophies and prizes by Trivandrum MP Shashi Tharoor.

In the singles semifinals, Deepankar Chakravarty defeated former captain of the Indian Seniors team, Sanjay Kumar, with a score of 6-4, 4-6, and 10-8 in a super tiebreaker. Earlier, in the quarterfinals, he triumphed over the fourth seed, Sanjay Mehra from Delhi, with a score of 6-3, 6-2.

In the doubles final, the international pair of Paul Varghese and Jayaram defeated Deepankar Chakravarty and Sanjay Kumar in a tough contest, winning 6-4, 6-3, 12-10 in a super tiebreaker.

The award ceremony was graced by the Chief Guest, Trivandrum MP and former Union Minister Shashi Tharoor, and the distinguished guest, the Additional Director General of Police.
